NYSF - Much Ado About Nothing (2019)

Gabe currently works as a freelance Lighting Designer (LD), Programmer and Master Electrician (ME). He is based in New York City but is originally from San Bernardino, California. He received his B.A. in Theatre, Film & Digital Production from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS) at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). While a student, Gabe served as the Master Electrician and Programmer for each of the department's productions for nearly three years. That is when he began to study lighting design. In 2014, he interned as the ALD on the regional production of A Trip To Bountiful at The Ahmanson Theater with Center Theatre Group (CTG). In 2015, he spent the summer as a Lighting Design & Electrics Intern at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. In three short months he was exposed to a Broadway caliber load-ins, technical rehearsals and load-outs. working on over 30 productions. Gabe spent spent the next two years designing, assisting and programming in the Greater Los Angeles Area at many different community, educational and regional theaters. Right before moving to NYC in January of 2017, Gabe had the pleasure of working as the ALD on Frozen - A Musical Spectacular with Disney Cruise Line (DCL) on the Disney Wonder. Gabe now closely works with Manhattan Theater Club (MTC) and The Public Theater/NYSF. He has been involved with most of their recent productions including; A Midsummer Night's Dream, Bella Bella, The Cake, Much Ado About Nothing, Hercules, Soft Power and more recently, The Vagrant Trilogy. When he is not busy doing theater, Gabe works with other production companies and schools doing event work, forums, pop-up shops and more. Gabe is excited to be working this summer with NYSF on the Master Electrician team. It will be his third summer at Shakespeare in the Park.
